The Art of Andron Aristy

My name is Andron Aristy, and like most artists, art isn't just my hobby--it's fundamental in who I am. So what makes me different? For starters, I'm not just a they/them--we're a we/us.

You see, I've always struggled with my mental health. I was diagnosed with ADHD at a young age, but my father denied me treatment because of his hatred of doctors. My birthgiver, abused by him, listened, and verbally abused me to try to get rid of my symptoms. In 2019, I learned what it truly meant to have ADHD and how badly it affected me. In 2020, we learned we were a system--the abuse we suffered fragmented my mind and turned "me" into "we". In 2022, I was formally diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder. While this disorder is undoubtedly difficult to live with, knowing we had it was a game changer and gave the rest of my parts the language and resources we needed to express ourselves--all of ourselves.

Hollywood will tell you that DID is a serial killer disorder. Social media might tell you it's a cringey trend. We will tell you that it's the double-edged sword that gave us a unique edge to survive every bad thing that's ever happened to us--and through the power of art, we will show you how.

On top of DID, we have a variety of other mental health conditions. In 2023, we discovered we were autistic, confirmed after more than a decade of suspicion. In 2024, a therapist suggested we may have Schizotypal Personality Disorder, which explained our eccentric behavior and certain other little things we didn't previously question. In 2025, we learned we suffered traumatic brain injuries in early childhood, which further explained our memory issues. We still struggle with these, but we're figuring it out.
